Dr Alain Lavoipierre

Dr Alain Lavoipierre graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1974, winning the Dean's Prize in his final year at St. Vincent's Hospital Clinical School. He obtained his FRANZCR in 1980. He was appointed as Deputy Director of Radiology at St Vincent's Hospital in 1982 and the next year joined Radclin Medical Imaging as a partner, becoming Director of CT (Computed Tomography) Scanning. He was Director of Radiology at Fairfield Infectious Diseases Hospital from 1985-1993 and Director of CT and Ultrasound at Cabrini Hospital from 1985-2003. In 2003 Dr Lavoipierre became Director of Medical Imaging at Mercy Private Hospital until he joined MDI Radiology in 2006. He has also been a Clinical Instructor at the University of Melbourne and Senior Lecturer at Monash University, as well as joint head of the Men's Reproductive Health Research Unit at the Cabrini Institute. Apart from his extensive teaching experience at both Undergraduate and Post-Graduate levels, Dr Lavoipierre has served on numerous professional and government committees and was Chairman of Radclin Imaging from 1995-1998.
A keen researcher, he has won several awards and been the recipient of a number of research grants. He has been author and co-author of over 45 published papers, abstracts and book chapters, as well as guides to Medical Imaging and has presented over 25 scientific papers at local and international meetings, as well as chairing several scientific sessions at local and international meetings. Dr Lavoipierre has also delivered over 75 invited lectures locally and internationally. He is licensed as a Specialist in Nuclear Medicine. Dr Alain Lavoipierre is currently Director of Radiology for MDI Radiology and holds the position of Director at MDI Radiology Malvern.
