In the second half of 2010, Dr Alain Lavoipierre (Director of Radiology) and Mr Mark Smyth (Ultrasound Coordinator) gave a series of lectures and presentations across Asia, Australia and New Zealand on the Philips x-MATRIX technology on which they had been working – in conjunction with Philips – for the proceeding 18 months.
Mark Smyth has been invited to give a lecture on contrast enhanced ultrasound of renal cystic lesions at the Australia Society for Ultrasound in Medicine meeting in September 2011, and Dr Alain Lavoipierre has also been asked to lecture at the same meeting on trans-rectal prostate ultrasound and biopsy.
At the Royal Australian and New Zealand Annual Scientific meeting in October 2011, Dr Alain Lavoipierre has been invited to give 2 lectures (on contrast enhanced ultrasound of renal masses and on prostate imaging). He is also presenting 2 scientific papers (on vascular assessment of diffuse thyroid disease and on CT urography) as well as chairing 2 scientific sessions.
